A Minute For Ann-Marie

on 30 may, 2020,

australians are

stopping to

'take a minute'.

That's all it would have taken to save Ann-Marie's life.

On the 5th of April, 2020, 54 year old Ann-Marie Smith was rushed to hospital by ambulance.

The next day, she died of severe septic shock, multi-organ failure, severe pressure sores and malnutrition.

Police say that there was no food in the house. That she was unable to leave the cane chair she slept in, day and night. That she hadn't left the house for years.

And worse still, she was funded for six hours of disability care and support a day.

Ann-Marie lived in an ordinary house on an ordinary street.
But her community stopped noticing when she didn't leave the house any more.

It would have only taken a minute to knock on the door or make a call to connect with Ann-Marie. Or to make sure the people who said they were doing their job were keeping her safe.
